Looks like Amazon confirmed my "reverse subsidy" theory

In Jan. 2010, I theorized the $130 markup for mobile broadband on the iPad was mostly a payout to the carrier to secure service. Today, people are wondering why the markup for mobile broadband on the Kindle Fire HD is $130.
