Garden plot - first bed filled

Spent day two at the garden plot lugging in bags of top soil and
barrels of compost. Filled the square bed, which will be devoted to
potatoes.

Garden plot - laying the beds

Set up the beds and boundaries for the garden. Will start filling the
in tomorrow.

Garden plot day one

Dug up the weeds at our new garden plot today. Not bad at all, but I
broke my new spade. Cheap piece of crap.

This is how you're supposed to wait while your car is inspected.

See? Standing across from the pumps. Coffee travel mug in hand. Not
chatting the whole time with the tech while he does his job.

Dude, STFU and let your car get inspected!

Figures. I'm behind one guy in line for my car inspection, and it's
the jackass who needs to tell the tech his car's life story. Dude's
been hovering in the garage the whole time.

Waiting for an emissions inspection. No, for the car, not me.

Spilling ink on all four blogs too #inktweet

Entering Ikea. Let the consumerism begin.

Going to Woodbridge today. Should I hang out in Ikea or Starbucks?

Driving Tanya to an appointment in Woodbridge today. Initial thought was to wait for her in Starbucks, but I hit the 'bucks all the time. Think I'll wander Ikea instead.

Dog anatomy should not be subjective

Woman said her dog is not putting weight on her back left leg if
you're facing her. If you're facing away, it's the back right.
Interesting she bases left/right on her own perspective, not the
dog's, but said "back" both times.

Fox News is torture

Been feeling my brain melt under the hot glare of Fox News at the vet.
Thankfully they're now interviewing a doctor about health issues and
he's actually making sense. Also, it seems they only hire hot blondes
and dorky dudes.

Homer still being treated

Ugh. Homer's bladder problem still here. Brought him to vet last
night. Back this morning to get a sample. He's finally figured out to
be scared of the carrier.

Day zero at our garden plot

Still waiting on our contract approval, but we stopped by our garden plot behind the Animal Reston Hospital. Mind is brimming with possibilities and, more importantly, spreadsheet tracking options.

Chorus for the next hit dance song. Listen for it in the club. #inktweet

Motherf'n car alarm

Some jackass's car alarm kept going off last night. Couldn't see it from our side but the row across the visitor parking could. Feel like a brick this morning.

Updated my Twitter profile

Put in a background photo and changed the color scheme. Still just re-blogging my regular posts though.

Almost bombed my eye exam

Must remember to STOP reading on my iPhone at least fifteen minutes before taking an eye exam to give my eyes a chance to refocus.

Mall Cop Segway

Didn't realize mall cops actually rode Segways, but one rolled up on
this one. Shows how often I'm in the mall.

The road to the DMV...

...is paved with vending machines. Flanked on both sides. One big
empty wall though. Wasted advertising opportunity.

Was debating whether to use the AC tonight

Leaning towards yes.

Got my hands on an iPad

Crowd in the Apple Store in Reston dipped to tolerable levels after
lunch. Felt great but missing some control elements that are obvious
to a long-time tablet user, like swiping to go back and forward.

iPad line at Reston Apple Store

12:22 and the line (and sheriffs) are still present.

Big old bonsai

In training since 1625.

Ikebana on display

I think the lone swooping flower makes this arrangement.
