Worst thing imaginable: Kate Gosselin guest stars with Sarah Palin

Ronald Reagan was a movie star. Sarah Palin is a reality show star. Hooray for Republican “progress”!

Fine. I guess The Beatles on iTunes was a big deal.

Sold 2M songs and 450k albums in first week. Apparently not everyone had a chance to already buy their stuff in the past 40 years.

Why is "nowadays" so commonly used by Asian people who learn ESL?

I keep seeing and hearing that word used by Asian people whose English is not so good (either ESL or pidgin speakers), from working class to PhD holders. How did that word take hold? It’s fascinating.

Why does Adobe Acrobat suck so hard at converting PDFs to HTML?

I get that format conversion is tricky, but tags split by line breaks and no closing tag on every FONT tag? Sad.

11/16/2010: never forget the day everyone said "Who cares about The Beatles?"

Apple announces The Beatles are now available on iTunes. We will remember this day because it’s when people universal agreed The Beatles on iTunes is not a big deal.

Stop fighting the TSA and strip down to your skivvies #FlyNaked

What can they do? Arrest you for indecent exposure then digitally strip you down to your junk?

I may have to buy a camera to take photos of my phone.

Got a snazzy little keyboard and dock set up for my iPhone but can't take a photo of it without undocking my phone.

Cold weather heralds the return of the Sleep Buddies! #cats

SAI offices robbed. Flipcam left behind. Sounds familiar...

SAI, seriously, the original story may be an urban myth, but the guys who robbed you are real and likely read that same myth too. Don’t touch anything (and certainly don’t brush your teeth) before you watch what’s on that Flipcam.

I found Waldo at #Rally4Sanity

#Rally4Sanity over, finally got cell service back

#rally4sanity would be great place for satellite phone.

Strong signal but cell traffic must be insane.

9:20 at the #rally4sanity

If you're not already at the #rally4sanity, you will not be near the stage

Also useful in explaining to people what "Green Lantern" is by pulling up the IMDB page.

My cheap-ass Halloween costume

Made from items I already had. Same deal with my rice dish for the potluck.

Robocalypse - Mobile Mayhem finally updated for iOS4

Thank goodness. Without Robocalypse, I got re-addicted to 7 Cities.

I can't believe nobody commented on the photo in this post.

My own fault for distracting people with a topic that gets their emotions up. Still, you’d think someone would have said something.

Consistency is Victory -- Ultra Magnus

Ah, once again my old standby tactic of sticking to my guns and waiting for a dumb-ass adversary to make a mistake pays off. As Ultra Magnus says “Consistency is Victory.”

Sleep problem on #TEGAv2 fixed! Sleep or resume in one second!

Hugo isolated the problem to chipset drivers. Put my TEGA v2 to sleep and back several times in the last few minutes. Love how speedy that SSD is for this. Everyone else should get the email soon.

@MrMobilePC Dude, I do want people to ask me about the #TEGAv2 but Sumocat does not wear medium :)

What's on the dock? TEGA v2 installing updates. #TEGAv2

What's in the box? Oh right, a TEGA v2 Windows 7 slate #TEGAv2

ink blogging from stevieblue

Got pinged by stevieblue in a couple of new ink blog posts in which he discovers the joys of Windows Journal, the chisel tip, and Build 52. Showed off some Evernote ink too. Thanks for asking about Homer! Will spill some ink on this later.

A truly profound non-fortune

I normally abhor non-fortunes in my fortune cookies, but this one transcends the rabble.

Happy 10/10/10

Missed 10:10 10/10/10 so I'll now have to drive west really fast to catch it in another time zone.

Angry sky for an angry day

Reminds me of the storms back home, except there's no mountain behind these clouds, just more darker clouds.

Everything today either pisses me off or brings me down

Work, tech, and personal, all news today has been bad. Need to call some family members tonight to hear their cheerier news (and hope they don’t have worse news to share).

I like it when people cover my stories and say "My friend Nicole Scott" If I had heard of you or your site it might seem less creepy! lol

Great. I took the hit on the Ctrl-Alt-Del button for nothing.

From Ars Technica: "The enterprise targeting is also apparent; there's a dedicated ctrl-alt-del button, to accommodate the Windows default of requiring the magic keystroke to log on in domain environments."

Great. This is exactly why I avoided mentioning corporate login in my defense of the Ctrl-Alt-Del button on the HP Slate, for which I am now getting bashed. I log in to a corporate server every day. I know why Ctrl-Alt-Del is needed. What I didn't want is for the button, which should be standard on every Tablet PC, to be equated with corporate and enterprise use. Oh well.

Fear or sanity: Those are your only two choices!

Fujitsu Lifebook T580: "IT'S MORE THAN A SLATE, IT'S A TABLET PC"

Instinctively figured out how to add page numbers to PDFs

I seem to be highly lucid this morning. Was about to look this up when it just clicked in my head to go to Documents à Header & Footer to add page numbers to PDFs in Acrobat. Brain is linking data like crazy. Could be me getting over my head cold or the Breathe Right strip I wore on my nose last night.

Rover Puck: Up to 4 hours of nonstop Pucking

Love the specs on the new Rover Puck mobile hotspot: “Battery: Up to 4 hours of nonstop Pucking”, “SSID: Bust out two Service Set IDs - one for you and one for your Puck buddies.” But as much as I’d enjoy 4 hours of nonstop Pucking, their coverage doesn’t cover me as well as their map thinks.
