Dear Adobe: Why does Acrobat change β to ß in PDF to text conversion?
I can accept that Acrobat sucks at converting to Word or HTML, but why the hell does it change characters in a simple text conversion? Did it with three Greek characters, which I fixed by copying the character out of the PDF to replace the one in the text. Why couldn't Acrobat do that in the first place?

Sold 2M songs and 450k albums in first week. Apparently not everyone had a chance to already buy their stuff in the past 40 years.

Why is "nowadays" so commonly used by Asian people who learn ESL?
I keep seeing and hearing that word used by Asian people whose English is not so good (either ESL or pidgin speakers), from working class to PhD holders. How did that word take hold? It’s fascinating.

Why does Adobe Acrobat suck so hard at converting PDFs to HTML?
I get that format conversion is tricky, but tags split by line breaks and no closing tag on every FONT tag? Sad.
11/16/2010: never forget the day everyone said "Who cares about The Beatles?"
Apple announces The Beatles are now available on iTunes. We will remember this day because it’s when people universal agreed The Beatles on iTunes is not a big deal.

SAI offices robbed. Flipcam left behind. http://tinyurl.com/2djq7r7 Sounds familiar... http://tinyurl.com/dbfvqh
SAI, seriously, the original story may be an urban myth, but the guys who robbed you are real and likely read that same myth too. Don’t touch anything (and certainly don’t brush your teeth) before you watch what’s on that Flipcam.

Great. I took the hit on the Ctrl-Alt-Del button for nothing.
From Ars Technica: "The enterprise targeting is also apparent; there's a dedicated ctrl-alt-del button, to accommodate the Windows default of requiring the magic keystroke to log on in domain environments."
Great. This is exactly why I avoided mentioning corporate login in my defense of the Ctrl-Alt-Del button on the HP Slate, for which I am now getting bashed. I log in to a corporate server every day. I know why Ctrl-Alt-Del is needed. What I didn't want is for the button, which should be standard on every Tablet PC, to be equated with corporate and enterprise use. Oh well.
