It never fails

I'm on front desk duty at work about two hours a month yet invariably in those two hours, I receive a call that only I can answer, which would be so much easier to do from my own desk. Meanwhile, I get maybe five such calls total during the other 138 hours.

Feedburner's BuzzBoost, what I use to add feeds to the sidebar on Scribbles, is not working correctly. Switching to headlines only until it's fixed.

Watching video and running backups ate up my PC time tonight (along with watching Burn Notice). Time to start expanding my setup.

Taking it outside

Jeremy Toeman intends to escalate our conflict. I’m actually quite surprised given his humorous approach in his tablet rant, but he wants to take it personally and make it serious. Go figure. However, that puts it outside what I do on GBM, so I’m moving my end over to Scribbles. I’ll hide behind my keyboard there. XD

Not just me: Gawker Media down

Noticed my Lifehacker and Gizmodo feeds haven’t updated in a while. Sites wouldn’t pull up. Turns out the sites are down so it’s not just me.

More on Lifestreaming

Must remember to get to take a look at these after tonight’s outing. Lifestream Blog, which is all about lifestreaming, and Kevin Kelly’s Lifestream, which actually aggregates separate blogs into one stream.

You call that a "lifestream"?

Warner at GBM pointed me to Steve Rubel’s so-called lifestream. Steve, per the definition you pointed to, it’s not a lifestream; it’s a blog. You want a real stream, check out my main blog.

Neither Blogger nor Evernote posted the voice memo emailed from my iPhone. It seems I must stick with the Evernote app itself to post voice notes.

I love LZW

If you ever have to work with TIF files, I suggest acquainting yourself with LZW lossless compression. I work with TIFs everyday and regularly see big b/w files reduced down to less than 1% of the uncompressed file size and color files to less than half thanks to LZW. Makes them so much more manageable and with no data loss.
